Following up on my last post, I added the third layer while checking the balance, and the lamp is finally complete. When I turn on the light, the colors and textures of the stained glass softly appear. It feels as if the piece comes to life with the light, and it makes me very happy. I also learned many important tips, such as how to cut the glass and how to apply the solder. These are things I probably wouldn’t have noticed on my own, so it was very helpful....

I sometimes get advice from someone I met in my neighborhood who used to make stained glass. But basically, I create my pieces in my own style.
Last weekend, I went to a stained glass studio far from home to improve my skills. I mainly studied how to make the design and how to cut the glass. I had many new encounters, discoveries, and learnings. It was very inspiring.
Next time will be the second half of the process.I’m already looking forward to seeing the finished piece.

I used some spare glass pieces this time and made a small box, for my practice.
I took photos both indoors and outdoors. The way the light hits the glass changes its expression, which is one of the unique charms of stained glass. I hope you enjoy seeing the difference.
