Originally from Wakayama, Japan, I now live in Niseko, Hokkaido.
As a single mother, I support women who are navigating life transitions, helping them rediscover themselves and create a life aligned with who they truly are.
After working as a nurse in Tokyo for three years, I moved to Canada on a working holiday visa and ended up living there for nearly ten years. Surrounded by nature and people from diverse backgrounds, I learned the importance of living authentically and staying true to myself.
After returning to Japan, I was drawn to Niseko because it reminded me of the lifestyle and environment I loved in Canada. I spent many years working in an international community, using English in my career and supporting people from all over the world.
I was trusted with significant responsibilities at work and earned a decent income.
Yet deep down, I often felt physically and emotionally exhausted.
My days were filled with work, housework, and endless responsibilities. When it came to my child, I was doing little more than getting through the essentials.
I wanted to be more present, but I simply didn't have the energy or space.
I found myself getting irritated over small things, and I didn't like the person I was becoming.
Despite working so hard, I never felt truly fulfilled.
There were times when I wondered,
“Why am I trying so hard?”
In relationships, too, I often put other people's needs before my own.
Without realizing it, I kept setting aside my own feelings and priorities.
Even when I told myself, “This time, I want to be truly happy,” I somehow found myself facing the same struggles again and again.
It felt like I was repeating the same patterns, without knowing how to break free from them.
That was when I discovered Birth Colors.
A Birth Color is a unique color derived from factual data such as your date of birth, selected from 1,440 colors and approximately 3.5 billion possible combinations.
Through discovering my Birth Color, I began to understand my natural strengths, qualities, and the essence of who I am. As I learned to better understand myself, the choices I made in life gradually began to change.
Instead of focusing on how others saw me, I started paying attention to how I truly felt.
As I became more conscious of living in a way that felt authentic to me, not only did my relationships change, but so did the way I approached my work, my future, and my life as a whole. I found the courage to pursue what I genuinely wanted to do.
Another passion of mine has always been stained glass.
I have long been fascinated by the way colors come alive through light, and I often dreamed of creating stained glass pieces myself one day. When that dream met my journey with Birth Colors, Lumi Neiro was born.
I am especially drawn to the combination of nostalgic, vintage-inspired glass and contemporary colors.
The warmth and gentle texture of time-worn glass, combined with new colors and light, create unique expressions that can never be repeated.
The spirit behind Lumi Neiro comes from this same appreciation for harmony and connection.
By combining Lumi (light) and Neiro (tone or timbre), the name reflects my appreciation for the harmony between Japanese and Western aesthetics, tradition and modernity, and the beauty that emerges when different elements come together.
Just as time gives glass its own character and beauty, I believe our experiences shape us in much the same way.
Every encounter, every challenge, and every moment of growth becomes part of our story.
And like stained glass illuminated by light, our unique colors are often revealed most beautifully through the journey itself.
Through color and light, I hope to offer moments that help people recognize their own strengths, beauty, and possibilities.
And through stained glass, I transform colors that hold special meaning into one-of-a-kind creations made just for you.
