Color Note 10

Happy New Year.

I went back to my parents’ home on the 29th for my first high school reunion since graduation.
On New Year’s Eve, I hurried back to Niseko and welcomed the new year surrounded by snow.

Seeing friends I hadn’t met for more than twenty years, and walking through a town with no snow and warm sunshine,
I felt as if I had briefly traveled back in time.
When I returned to Niseko, the scenery changed completely to a white, snowy landscape, gently bringing me back to reality.
It was a moment that marked the turning of the year.

While at my parents’ home, I found this stand.
The moment I saw it, an idea came to mind, and at the start of the new year, I decided to begin creating.
Choosing the colors, deciding on the layout, and making the design and pattern always take time,
but once I start cutting the glass, the piece comes together surprisingly quickly.

I think it could also be used at markets and events
as a stand to display menus, signs, or announcements.
